mystikl Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Hello, I need help figuring something out. I need to use large coordinates in my project (x>700 000 and y>400 000). How can I setup my drawing to use these coordinates? I'm using Autocad 2010. Quote
ScribbleJ Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Nothing to setup unless your going to use a specific projection (i.e. state plane, UTM, WCS) in the drawing. That is only accomplished by using either AutoCad Map 3D or Civil 3D. Just start drawing in the coordinates you mentioned. If you provide more info maybe we can help out even more. Such as, do you have a points file you need to translate into that coordinate system or are you starting from scratch or do you have some hard copy plans your using to draw from with the coordinates? BIGAL Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 if you zoom extents it will zoom to the actual limits of the objects in the drawing. if you zoom all it will zoom to the "limts" which you can change ie LIMITS. Regarding the large numbers not a problem years ago autocad had a sample drawing called solar it was the solar sytem eartrh sun moon etc as dots you could zoom to the objects say moon circle appeared then zoom the object lunar lander, as a joke we drew a bolt on the footpad of the lunar lander zooming to head of bolt read "Made in Japan" all the drawing was in true scale 1:1 Quote
mystikl Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 Yeah, I didn't use zoom extents. Thanks for the help people. Quote
