Hi, I'm using Autocad Civil 3D 2009

How can I create a solid hatch in side a polyline shape and when I click on the hatch after have it not load so load in properties? Usually takes like 10 seconds before I can edit the hatch. I'm sure the hatch itself contains far too many 'pixels' or whatever it is called and so that is making the hatch load slow. How can I make a much quicker loading hatch. I don't mind loosing quality on the solid hatch either.

I've read other threads here about this and to answer a few comments I've seen: I have the hatch on its own layer, my ltscale is at 100 (if that matters any for this), and my file size is about 4mb. My only desire is to be able to click on the hatch itself and edit it (delete it or whatever) quickly. Thanks.

Sounds like the hatch is just really big.

Try turning the Highlight variable off.

That didn't seem to make any difference. If the properties manger window is open that is what causes clicking on a hatch to be slow, otherwise it's instant.

There's your problem. The Properties palette has to extract a large amount of data from the selected hatch object. Set the Properties palette to auto-hide.
