Viewports

hi can anyone help

have a drawing in layout, created a viewport, made object as the building is not sqare,

so placed it on my layout all fine, as soon as i hide my viewport the whole building shows on the drawing, like the viewport suddenly shows what i do not want to see. it is fine when i print the drawing, the building prints within the viewport area, however if i ty to freeze the viewport on my layout it shows it all , just distracting. i want to freze my viewport in layout so i just see what i want. can anyone help how i achieve this.

... when you write 'in layout' do you mean paperspace: the plan should be in model space to make use of viewport - or have I misunderstood you?

Freeze the viewport itself or freeze certain layers within a particular viewport? Your description is confusing. Post an example.
