I can't select lines when I zoom in the drawing

I am Architectural Engineering student. I am using AutoCad 2008. I drew my plans before and everything is ok.But today, when I zoom in the drawing, i couldn't select the lines. the pointer is not on the lines, only beside them..can you help me please. :)
