td88 Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I've created a new layout tab by move and copy from an existing tab. The tab shows an image of a model space floor plan, when I open it and if I double click on the image it opens model space just as you would expect from a viewport. However, when I attempt to select the viewport to move or delete it, I cannot get it to highlight and display grips. We've tried looking at layers frozen, locked and shut off and nothing will get the viewport to display in addition to looking for a viewport or defpoints layer. Any suggestions? Quote
Rebel Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 i know it might seem silly, but zoom extents? Maybe the boundary of your viewport is larger than your layout so you can't see it. Quote

Do you have a drawing border line on top of the viewport? If so, change the drawing order of the border, send to back. I have had that happen to me a lot when copying layouts. For some reason the drawing order will change. I almost always have the inner drawing border in the same place as my viewport. It's just a habit. Quote
td88 Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 Dana and Rebel, I'm no longer at work but, will try both tomorrow. One ques. on your idea, Dana, even if the viewport is sent to back, wouldn't it light up if I rolled over it? Thanks, Tim Quote

Thanks, Tim No, only the border line (topmost object) would light up, unless you select it with a right to left crossing window. Even then it won't light up if your viewport is a member of any of the checked catagories in >>> Tools>Options>Visual Effects Settings>Advanced Preview Options>Exclude Objects..... Quote
