Kratos Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Hey everyone. I am new around here so i apologize if this is in the wrong forum. Anyway, we recieved some drawings from another company and I can't copy and paste between them. I don't get an error message, just an "INVALID" in the command line. After trying to copy/paste, I try to save the drawing and it crashes AutoCad. I am using AutoCad 09 and they other company is using Land Desktop. Most likely the current version but I am not sure. Thanks. Quote
ReMark Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Find out the version of Land Desktop they are using. Are you up-to-date with service packs/updates for AutoCAD 2009? Have you run an Audit on the drawing they sent you? How about a Purge? Are Xrefs involved? Could it have anything to do with a bloated ScaleList? Quote
Tiger Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 My guess is that they are displayed as Proxy objects. When I get files from Civil 3D, everything is proxy objects. if you hightligh the objects and pull up Properties you can see what they are. They way that I handle it is I highlight everything, do Explode. Highlight everything again and then copy it out to another drawing. When you close the original drawing, everything reverts back to proxys, but your copy should remain as lines. Quote
