cardaft Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Hi, Im in a bit of a panic, got to hand in a AutoCAD assignment tomorrow at uni and i cant get the layout to work properly. All the layout is showing is the drawing in layer 0, however i have many many layers. I think ive set up the viewports etc, but all i get get is the few lines in my layer 0 and none of the rest of my drawing. What have i done wrong? Thanks, Chris Quote
ScribbleJ Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 In the layer manager check to see if the layers have been frozen in the viewport only. It will be on the right under VP Freeze column. Quote
cardaft Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 Some look frozen (no sun) and others dont, however neither and showing on the layout tabs, only the first layer 0. Ive tried freezing and unfreezing the VP column but it doesnt make a difference. Thanks. Quote
ScribbleJ Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Are you making sure your VP is active when you check the layer manager? In paperspace the layer manager only shows you the state of what is active. Double click in the VP and then check the layer manager. Quote
ReMark Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Did you turn all the layers off by mistake? You did save this drawing at some point (I hope) right? Quote

I'm missing something here though.. you're talking about layout tabs.. Are all the missing items visible in modelspace when you ZOOM ALL? If it's a layout tab issue, the solution is in the viewport layer visibility, or perhaps you moved/rearranged the modelspace stuff, and ended-up moving it out of view of the viewports. In that case, pan around in the viewports until you find them again. You might also want to consider erasing the old viewports and creating new ones. Quote
ReMark Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Verify the geometry actually exists in model space first. Open the Layer Properties Manager unfreeze or thaw or turn on every layer you have. Now switch to your layout. Check your viewports. Do you see anything? If you have a viewport that appears empty double-click inside of it and do a zoom > all or a zoom > extents. Now what do you see?
