How can I create a rectangle that occludes everything behind it. I'm working in 2D. If I create a rectangle overtop already present geometry, I can still see that geometry through the rectangle (even if I make it into a region). There must be a way of filling the rectangle black. Is there?

Use the wipeout command. This will hide objects behind it.

You can also use a solid hatch with the color white (color 255).

1. Use a Solid hatch
2. Use the Solid command (draw the 4 corners in a 'bowtie' fashion)
3. Use a polyline with a width
