Hi,

Still trying to get used to autocad 2011......

I seem to be having a problem with polylines (at least thats where i am experiencing it most) whereby when i draw a polyline around the perimeter of an existing object, and then move it elsewhere in model space, it seems to drag the lines of the original object all over the place. it reminds me a bit of the problems you get if you associate your dimensions........

any help gratefully recieved as i am tearing my hair out......

thanks

Why not draw that polyline on a different layer? When it comes time to move it freeze the layer the original lines are on. Pulling hair out is not a recommended AutoCAD procedure.

Just tried on a different layer and using the freeze option but when i turn the layer back on the lines are all over the place.....

In 2008 it seemed to be fine.............

Then you're doing something wrong. Probably has to do with the tendency to be overriding layer properties.

You will be pleased to know i wasnt doing anything wrong.

Infer constraints were set to 'on'. This basically associated lines in a similar manner to associative dimensions......

You were working with geometric contraints?

apparently so - like i said, new to 2011 (came from autocad 2005!!) so it was a new one on me!!

Is that a new command? If so I don't want to execute it when we finally get 2011.

:D
