Hi,

I am thinking to purchase and install the Adobe PDF driver (that is coming inside the Adobe Acrobat Standard suite) in order to generate PDF files from my drawings in AutoCAD 2009. Somebody told me about problems (printing line styles) using the free DWG-to-PDF driver that Autodesk provides in AutoCAD 2009. Does anybody know what is the usage of the Adobe PDF driver and if people is happy with that?

Thanks in advance,

Ed

The PDF driver that comes with AutoCAD had issues when it was released in 2007, but it has been getting better each year. If you are looking for a replacement, take a look at AcroPlot. But first, use the built in driver and see if you have problems...

Have a look at PDF Factory PRO (I like this one) or PDF995

I've gone back to the included one with no real problems.
I used to use CutePDF (http://www.cutepdf.com/). It's free and works well.

No problems using the built in *.pdf printer, AutoCAD 2007.

I do however use Adobe Standard 6 and/or Adobe Pro 8.
I like the Pro version, allows me to edit, and lots more.

Of course, can't edit an image generated from AutoCAD.
I can save a *.pdf as a *.jpg image. A nice feature in the Adobe Pro version.
