HHI Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 I'm drawing on top of a survey file. I changed the UCS to World so my hatching would come in correctly. Now I cannot seem to draw a line that is not completely horizontal or vertical. Is there a way to change the UCS back to what it was after changing it so the hatching looked right? Thanks Quote
huck Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I am very new here and have used cad in a closed environment, but do you have ortho on? F8 or click ortho on the bottom. Am hoping for a reply to a question and trying to help. Quote
HHI Posted June 3, 2010 Author Posted June 3, 2010 Great, thanks! F8 worked -- I'm new on this, too (and am definitely new to Autocad). But, that helped me be able to draw lines the way I was before I changed the UCS. Quote
Dana W Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Ortho snaps your lines to either 90 deg. or 0 deg. depending on how you move your cursor. It comes in handy when doing mechanical, architectural, or electronic, where 90% of the line work is either of the above. It is like having a milkpail stuck on your foot for surveying work. The only way to get a line drawn at any other angle with ortho turned on, is to have at least one other object already in the drawing. You can then draw a line from any point to any snap on that object, regardless of the resulting angle of the line. Quote
