ReMark Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 There's a forum for every subject under the sun. Have you visited here...? http://www.pdmsworld.com/forum/ Quote
Tiger Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 It comes up sometimes that me and my collegues should start using PDMS but there are some things that hinder it. First, yes, the use that I have heard is mostly in pipeworks oil and gas, large assemblies and whole plants and that sort of things. It is a huge program and therein lies the problems for us. Apparently you basically need one person on staff full time just administrating the program, so that your designers can work in it. Since it is so huge, it takes training to learn and to do it well - and from the few demonstrations I have seen, it looks nothing like AutoCAD. It is not something that you learn on your spare time, it is an investment for companies that is not neglectable. Quote

That's exactly what no one needs, another bloated CAD program. My piping add-on for AutoCAD, works great. Wouldn't consider PDMS. Quote
