bjenk8100 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 this is kinda weird. i think it happen to me awhile ago adn i fixed it somehow but i cant figure it out. i drew something very large (230x270)'. when i copy an object and hit paste the object that i am trying to paste is way out of the screen so i cant see where exactly i want to paste it. i am trying to figure out how to have the object closer to the usc so i can paste it by sight rather than specifying a point. any help would be great. im thinking something to do with the zoom but i dunno. tnx Quote
MSasu Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Try to use Copy with Base Point option from Edit menu. Regards, Quote
Skybeorn Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 You can also use ctrl+shift+c the keyboard shortcut in CAD for copy with base point. Quote
bjenk8100 Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 thank you both threads work i usually never have to do that. is it because drawing is large? Quote
MSasu Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 You're welcomed! But is the same solution (command) - called from Menu, respectively as shortcut... Also can use COPYBASE on command prompt. Regards, Quote
Dana W Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 i usually never have to do that. is it because drawing is large? Probably, the 'new' drawing is not zoomed out enough to include the view of the pasted object. The default model space is not anywhere near 300 feet in any direction. Until you draw something that big or zoom way way out, you are looking at a space about 60 units wide. Quote
