bobsy852 Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 I have to draw the view of a building as if i was stood on a line (yellow lines on my dwg) looking at the building. The other buildings are all square onto the line and were no problem to draw, but this last 1 that i have attached it at an angle to the view. Having no experience of 3D drawing in CAD im hoping someone will be able to teach me a simpler way to draw up the view of the building? I've attached the dwg of the building and the 2 arrows showing the direction of the 2 views I have to draw. Also the elevation view of each face of the building! I dont need the outcome to be in 3D, just a flat view as if looking at the building, im just struggling to draw it up at this angle, was hoping some 3D tool on CAD may make it easier? If anyone can help me out here I would be greatly appreciative! Thanks Drawing1.dwg Quote
ReMark Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 You have drawn all four sides of the building in elevation. Why are these two additional (angled) views even necessary? They wouldn't show any new information. Or are you trying to draw the house in perspective view? It's a 2D drawing. There is no magic 3D tool that is going to help you in this case. If you had drawn the house in 3D then you could have extracted an auxilliary view or set up a perspective view. Quote
bobsy852 Posted June 14, 2010 Author Posted June 14, 2010 I've got to draw it at a perspective view! at the min, im drawing the floor plan up again to inc the windows etc, so that I can then rotate this new floor plan as necessary, then re-draw the new perspective elevations up from the lines on the floor plan! ReMark Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 The two yellow lines that are on layer "Cross sections". Why did you extrude them? Quote
bobsy852 Posted June 14, 2010 Author Posted June 14, 2010 On my original drawing there are a 11 propoerties in total, and they all back square onto the cross section line, this last 1 however is at an angle to both! I just copied the lines over from my original dwg. They didnt need to be this long for the purpose of explaining my problem really! Quote
ReMark Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Have you covered drawing a perspective view in class? Quote
bobsy852 Posted June 14, 2010 Author Posted June 14, 2010 nah! never did that at Uni! and im at work in a job now, and the other guy who uses CAD here doesnt know an easier way to do it! Quote
ReMark Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 You're going to have a lot of fun today it seems. Quote
bobsy852 Posted June 14, 2010 Author Posted June 14, 2010 haha oh yes! im half way through doing it the long way now! just thought id see if there was a simpler way, or more precise! Quote
