Compatibility problem 2011 to 2009

Hi all, I will ask your advice with the following issue: usually I'm working with ADT2009, inserting walls and components from the Tool Palettes. Recently I've installed ADT2011 in one of my computers. After saving in 2011 and viewing the DWG in 2009 I cannot edit the walls\windows\doors or any other component. Saving the file as 2007 (within the 2011 version) didn’t make any difference. I hope I was clear enough… do you have a suggestion how to solve this?

I hope you do backups, so you can pull the file out of backup. there is no backwards compatibility of AEC objects between file formats. IE 2007-2009 to 2010-2013 are different .dwg file formats. Unfortunately there is no way to convert back at all.

Yes fortunately i have backups. and thanks for your answer - i will have to decide now if I should update all the computers...

Have you tried a conversion/revert program?

AutoDesk has one for free. TrueView. Download it and give it a whirl.

Trueview will not work on AEC objects. People using Revit have the same problems, there is no backwards compatibility.
