Globally changing colour in LT2010

I have an architects drawing which has numerous blocks, numerous types of blocks and I simply want to change everything to bylayer colour.

 

The only way I can think to do it is to explode all the blocks but this is time consuming and some of the attributes are lost.

 

The last one I did took me 2hours :cry: and I have 3 to change so I can add my detail without it being lost in the multitude of colour.

 

Any help would be much appreciated.
