Du135oz Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Hi guys I have just recently started using Cad at work and would like to create a template that I can use with every drawing that will allow me to put in a block with tags so that I can populate the clients' information and any other info that I need to on the drawing. Can anyone help me to do this? regards DU135OZ Quote
BIGAL Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Do you have already a copy of what you want the title block to look like ? If not there are some "sample" drawings you can use, part of the normal acad install search for them. Basicly you nake the title details a block with attributes for client, dwg No, sheet No, theres no rules to what it should look like rather convey the information simply. Also put your title block into a layout tab not model space. Have a look around your office or look at other drawings that have been supplied. If your dealing with gov't authorities they do have standard title blocks they want you to use but normally they will supply if you ask nicely. Also look up standard drawings on the net should be able to find lots of title blocks to get an idea from, I am sure people here will give examples also. Quote

stevsmith Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Did you open it directly from the zip file? If so, extract the file to your hard drive. Quote
stevsmith Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 The best way to start is to draw your title block to the way you want it. Then goto >Draw >Block >Define Attributes and go from there. Quote
