Ells Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 In previous releases of AutoCAD I have been able to digitize a block, grab the attribute by the grip and move it where I wanted to. In v2011 I can rotate the attribute using the enhanced block editor but I cannot move the attribute without moving the whole block. What am I missing. I looked in the Acad help files but they have attained a higher level of uselessness. Thanks in advance, ells Quote
rkent Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 One method, first press and hold Ctrl, now select the attribute, the grips will show, (you can release Ctrl or hold), pick a grip and drag it where you want it. After that attribute has moved, when you pick on the block again you will see an additional grip and now you can move the attribute without the Ctrl key. Quote
Ells Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 Thanks for the tip. I am sure that it works that way in some applications but for this one I had to remake the block but before doing so I checked the properties of the attribute and had to set the "Lock Position" to no. (That is under "Misc" under properties.) It seems like AutoCAD wants to keep you guessing. Thanks for the reply, ells Quote
