Is there a program to rename layout1 tab to Paper?

Just right click on the tab and Rename. If you want it renamed permanently, rename it in your Template file.

Might you be using the default acad.dwt by any chance or do you use a custom-made template?

Company standard We're not allowed to use anything else.

If it's a company standard, I would advise against changing the template file.

The template as remark stated :"acad.dwt" is the default one. This is the blank darwing that opens when you just open AutoCAD normally. (i.e. not clicking on a drawing file, But clicking the autocad icon to open the program)

To "save" the template so it will say something something other than layout 1 you need to...

1. First find the template (Probably acad.dwt)

2. Make changes in that template ( add layers, dimension styles, layout names, etc)

3. Do a save as and make sure you save the drawing as a .dwt (Drawing template) file.

You are right. I think I'll leave well enough alone.

Thank you one and all.

Run the ._Options command, go to > Files tab > Template Settings > Default Template File Name for QNEW.

This is the template that is used when you run the QNEW command.

If you run the NEW command, you are asked to choose a template from the directory stored in Files Tab > Template Settings > Drawing Template File Location.
