monk Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Hello im sure i read somewhere that you can control Attribute infomation with an external excel spreadsheet. For example. You have a project folder. With each drawing having a Title block with attributes. The spreadsheet will say the client, project etc. This will be automatically updated onto the title block. Quote
Gatekeeper101 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 You can create a DATA LINK to a Excel sheet and then link the attributes to the DATA LINK-ed table. However this would require a table in the drawing to be referenced. Also I have not found a way to get CAD to link to a cell that contains text, the bright side is that there is software out there that over comes that; it is add-on software and works great, but it is not Freeware/Shareware. There might be similar software out there that is, but I have not located it yet. The software I found that enables CAD to link to a cell that contains text is “AutoField” by “CADIG” http://www.cadig.com/products/autocad-field.php Another way of do it would to use "SheetSets" you fill in the information (Create custom properties if needed (they are) ) then creat field to the sheetset; yes this way would illiminate the Excel spreadsheet.
