View Full Version : vray mirror rendering problem

hi,

in the first picture i have all the wall rendered with a marble stone.

the second picture i changed the wall into vray material and trying to make a mirror there. as u see the edge of the mirror is much too dark.
if that's a lighting problem why it doesn't show up in the render with marble wall. what do u think the problem might be?

the 3rd image is my mirror material setting, clean and simple.

I don't know if you're still having trouble, but I think what you're seeing is pretty typical of the way a mirror would look in real life under similar circumstances. Although your mirror does appear a little extra dark around the edges. Maybe there's something wrong with your material settings? I don't use Vray, but in Mental Ray, to create a mirror material I would just use a Standard material, with Diffuse & Ambient set to black, and then just drop a Raytrace material into the Reflection slot.
