yekom Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but here it is: I was wondering if anyone has the correct plot styles (specifically the pen assignments) for the electrical, architectural and mechanical drawings, or at least a link where it tells how to define them. I'll take a job interview in a few days and I'm very sure I'll have to bring my own pen assignments for the sake of convenience. Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Most companies should already have their plot style files (whether they are ctb or stb) already figured out. It would be highly unusual if they didn't. Each company will have their own preferences too. What ABC, Inc. uses for a plot style may not be what Acme Products, LLC would use and vice-versa. Quote
rkent Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 There is no universal standard for how to plot electrical, architectural and mechanical drawings. Everyone does it differently. I can't imagine a job interview where they want you to bring pen assignments, if there was one right style for those then you wouldn't need to bring them as everyone would already have them. You may need to talk briefly on how plot styles can be used to convey the intent of the drawing discipline. Quote
yekom Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 I was wondering the same thing since most companies have their own, but I guess I wasn't sure. Thanks for the quick replies. Quote

chulse Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Most companies should already have their plot style files ... What ABC, Inc. uses for a plot style may not be what Acme Products, LLC would use and vice-versa. We work as a sub on projects with other firms. I can say without a doubt that this is true - of the 100+ firms we have worked with in the last several years, not a one of them used the same pen table as another, and many have several different ones for various purposes. I have a library of a couple hundred CTB and STB files to prove it Quote
