Call MDDEDIT from a Lisp Routine

I'm trying to call MDDEDIT from within my Lisp routine and not having any luck.

I want to pass a selection set of attributed blocks to MDDEDIT, do the editing of them by hand, then the routine will close.

Is this possible? What does the code look like?
