bjenk8100 Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Hey, I am kinda new to dynamic blocks. I am wondering the best way to save your blocks. I started a drawing where that I named block where I plan on storing all of my blocks. THen when I am working on a drawing and want to use one of the blocks I want to just open the block drawing and copy adn paste the blocks that I want into my current drawing. Well, I did this but the actions on the block are not the same when copying into the new drawing. Any ideas or a better method would be much appreciated. tnx Quote
JBullseye74 Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Each time you generate a dynamic block you need to WBLOCK it into as a seperate file. I have a blocks folder and i actually intsert the more regularly used ones into my tool pallette (Control+3) i hope this helps. Quote
ReMark Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Have you considered making a new Tool Palette for your dynamic blocks? Quote

bjenk8100 Posted September 27, 2010 Author Posted September 27, 2010 nvm if you save it to a pallete in any drawing it automatically stays there in every drawing very cool Quote
bjenk8100 Posted September 27, 2010 Author Posted September 27, 2010 hmmm told you im new to this but for some reason when i put them in my new palatte it wont let me drag the ones i made onto my drawing but the otehr ones that came with autocad can be dragged i see if i can figure it out Quote
JBullseye74 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 You need to do as i said in my earlier post. Each time you create a dynamic block WBLOCK it to a seperate folder where you can store and manage your block library. This is the way i do it........open this file through your 'my computer' and go to you blocks file. So now they are all displayed you can literally drag them one at a time into your tool pallette from there. Quote
