Glen Smith Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 AuotCAD crashed on me yesterday and now I'm having some strange behavior (even after a cold reboot). When I do a window selection or crossing selection I am used to seeing the boundary of the window as well as highlighting inside that window. After my crash, both are gone - in modelspace only. If I switch to paperspace, it works as expected. If I go to Tools - Options - Selection - Visual Effect Settings... and uncheck the box by Indicate selection area, I get back the window boundary, but - as expected - no highlighting. I have tried changing the colors of the highlighting, the opacity, but no highlighted window. I assume that a system variable got hosed when I crashed, I just don't know which one it is. I really don't understand why it would be different behavior in model vs paper space. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks Glen Quote
nestly Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I have one machine that does the same thing if the modelspace crosshair color is the same color as the modelspace background. Normally, black and white automatically flip so the crosshairs are the opposite color as the background regardless of the color setting, but sometimes the Aperture, XYZ markers, and selection window don't. I believe it's a videocard/driver issue (FirePro V5800 in my case) Quote
Glen Smith Posted October 21, 2010 Author Posted October 21, 2010 Thanks Nestly, that did it. Somehow the crosshair color got changed to black. I have model space set to black, and paper space to white. The crosshairs still show as white in mspace until the first click of a window selection, then they disappear. Why the highlighting goes away I have no idea, but I'm just gonna fix the crosshair color and back slowly away from the issue. Thanks again. Glen Quote
