richie_008 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I am new using Auto CAD 2011. I try to save my template as a dwt file, but when I am done saving it it shows as dxf file. What is a dxf file and is there a way around this by only saving as a dwt? Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 I don't have 2011, but I can't imagine it being that much different from 2010. When you hit "saveas" and the dialog box appears, down at the bottom where it says "files of type:", click on that arrow and scroll down through the available types. In my list, and option for dxf is right below the dwt option. Make sure you are clicking on the right one, and if you are, I can't imagine what's going on. Quote
richie_008 Posted November 12, 2010 Author Posted November 12, 2010 I was selecting the right one from the drop list. I actually did the process over again and for some reason this time it worked and my template was saved as a regular dwt file. I've been having several issues with 2011 so I'm constantly in the forums looking for solutions. Quote
nukecad Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Have you installed the latest update, 1.1 ? That mentions some fixes for open/save problems. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=15569738&linkID=9240818 Quote
