BWW Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 I need to save drawings in DXF format. When trying to do so in saveas ... DXF isn't listed as an option. Kinda makes it tough to choose it when it's not in the pull down list. I also don't see any way to export to DXF. I'm using ACAD 2004 and these problems appear in the acad menu. If I switch to an ADT menu screen I have Export to ACAD 2004, but I still don't have .dxf as an option in saveas. What am I missing? Quote
BWW Posted November 12, 2010 Author Posted November 12, 2010 That works, and thanks! Too easy ... as it often is. I still wonder why the .dxf option isn't in the pull down list under saveas ? Quote
fuccaro Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Also you may try to use the WBLOCK command and enter a file name ended with .DXF Quote

eldon Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 It is certainly there in 2002. Perhaps if you post a screen grab of your Save as File dialogue box, it would help someone to give a more helpful suggestion. Quote

I still wonder why the .dxf option isn't in the pull down list under saveas ? dxf is not a file save, it is a conversion for export. AutoCAD has to run some program code on it to build the dxf file.
