3D beginner

Hello,

I am new to this website and new to 3D AutoCAD.
I have contours with x,y,z co-ordinates which represents my ground and i need to work out a volume of upfill for an agricultural plateau. Any advice on how to go about making a surface from my contours and intersecting my plataeu level? I am using Map 3D 2008.

You need Civil 3D to do that.
You create two DTMs, one for the original ground and on for the planned surface.
Then create a differntial DTM to get the volume.
