ReMark Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Color dependent plot style table. This has been the default for AutoCAD since its inception. Quote

ReMark Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 AutoCAD uses two different plot style tables. They are color-dependent (CTB) and named (STB). Long time users of AutoCAD tend to favor CTB plot styles because that was all AutoCAD offered for many years. There are differences between the two both pro and con. You should read up on both and know what those differences are and make a decision as to which one you want to use in your day-to-day activities. You should also learn how to convert a plot style (ex. - STB to CTB) in case you ever get a drawing sent to you from another contractor or client that uses a style different from the one you are used to using. mkweaver Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 so it means it has not any abbreviation:) I have always thought of STB as being Style TaBle and CTB as being Color TaBle. Quote
tzframpton Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 so it means it has not any abbreviation:) It's a file extension. I'm sure in the programming world it's considered good practice to name a file extension in correspondence to the file naming convention but that doesn't mean it's an exact abbreviation. This goes for all applications with supporting filetypes. Quote
ReMark Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I am not responsible for naming features at AutoDesk so if you disagree with the conventions used give them a call, write an email or talk to your authorized reseller. There are only two important things to remember. 1) There are two different plot styles. 2) As a CAD professional it's your responsibility to the difference between the two. Quote
