Timber Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Hi folks, I wonder if anyone can help me. My 2009 autocad student edition crashed. On the screen is only a red A in the top left hand corner. No menu's, no pulldowns...and if I left click on the screen in order to bring up another menu, nothing happens. It's as if the whole screen just disappeared. And I have a project due tomorrow. thanks in advance..........Tim Quote
mateen Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 i think your cad is currpt. Reinstall your cad. Quote
MarcoW Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 No, I believe there is missing the ribbon and menu's. This happenes if you delete workspaces etc. I did it once and "repaired" the install. THis works good. I believe that reloading CUI could help also but I am not able to try now. Please google for "autocad missing ribbon" and see what they come up with. Quote
ReMark Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Did you hit the "Clean Screen" button by accident? It would be down in the lower right-hand corner of your screen. Do you have a command line at the bottom of your screen? Quote
Slaraffenmann Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 If possible, try to enter the options-menu by clicking your right mouse button. At the profile tab, try to choose one profile, and click set current. This might get your ribbons back. Quote
ReMark Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 If the OP has a command line typing the word RIBBON might also work as well. However, he has failed to provide any further pertinent information so I guess we just wait and see. Quote
Dana W Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I'm thinking the thing might have expired, and the OP has the splash screen turned off. Quote
Timber Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 Hi folks, thanks for all the input. However, I think Dana is correct.....the darn thing expired....and it expired at 8 pm, on the last night of class right before the project was due. Quote

Dana W Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Great timing. Nice call there Dana. Just speaking from experience. My last class was in November several years ago. Class started on 10/29, and ran through 11/30, but I installed my software from the disk in the AutoCAD 2007 Bible to my home computer a week before the class started. Luckily, most of class time was usually devoted to completing the work. Quote
