Creating a mould

Hi, sorry if this question has come up before.

I am trying to make a mould for a part to sit in to get heat staked but it is a pretty complex part. I have the IGES files for the parts to get heatstaked. Is there anyway i could just create a block as a base and then use the part as an extrusion to create the mould

Do you have Inventor Professional or Inventor Tooling?

If not, you will want to use a Derived Component technique - see the tutorials in my signature.

Zip and attach your original IGES file here if you can't get it figured out.
