Bigthunker Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Does anyone know if you can transfer projects standards (revit term) between projects and/or templates to help reduce the number of layers, layers states etc. For instance: Take your existing layers, could they be stored into a "existing" template/drawing so they are not part of your master template which is used for all proposed works, which can then be loaded into your drawing should your project have an existing building?? ccowgill Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I believe you can always create multiple templates, then just insert it as a block and all the layers and such will come in. you could also programmatically create all the layers and set their properties, but that is a little more complicated. Bigthunker Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Hey ccowgill, Thanks for the reply, could you clarify how i can insert the template as a block as the template files are .dwt but the insert block only allows for .dwg & .dxf files. Also could you give me a little more detail on how i can get to work programmtically, or do you know of a tutorial of some sort. In terms of future work flow it may be worth setting something like this up - bearing in mind we only have 2011LT so no Lisp Cheers bud Quote
ccowgill Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I was mistaken, I guess you cant insert a dwt, however, you can bring the layers in via the design center, or save the dwt as a dwg and insert that (I'd go the design center route just select all, drag, and drop) And as for the programmatically, I'm afraid your out of luck with LT, the program we use was written in LISP.
