Hi,

I am new to Autocad.

I have an old survey in PDF format. I do not hae the scale of the survey but there are some dimension in the survey I can use as references.

What I need help on is on how can I change the AutoCad scale so when I measure a something on the attached PDF survey will be the same measure in Autocad.

Been more specific:

1. I attached a PDF file

2. In the file there is a line that meassures 15ft

3. When I measure it in AutoCad it says 0.2763

4. I will like to see AutoCad measure of 15ft so I can continue to draw in the same scale the survey is.

Thanks and regards.

Use the Scale command.

Select the PDF hit enter.

Specify Base Point. Pick one end of the line that measures 0.2763

The enter R in the command line for Reference

Then pick the two points of the line that measures 0.2763

The command line should say "Specify new length or [Points]"...

Enter the 15ft length that you want and hit enter

Thanks a lot. Great help

On the same PDF I drew a Poliline and need its area. So I used the AREA command and after your suggestions is giving me the correct area.

My question now is how can Label that area but keeping the meassure of the area connected to the poliline, so if I change the poliline the area label will be updated automatically?

Something like AREA = xxx sqft.

Also what if I want to change the area units from sqft to Acres, perhaps....

Thanks again. Regards.

I think you might want to utilize a "field".
