MiGo Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 All fields that are blank when I close a drawing just dissapear. I have client title blocks and every attribute is linked to sheet sets via a field. In AutoCAD 2008 these remained even after a drawing was saved and closed but in 2010 all of the unused fields are gone and have to be inserted when editing the attribute values if ever added. When saved they stay but it's when the drawing is closed they all go away. Does anyone know of a variable or a setting that makes unused fields completely dissapear when a drawing is closed? Quote
JPlanera Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 what value is FIELDEVAL set to? if it is 31, that is what it is supposed to be set to, then i dont know.... Quote
ccowgill Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 do you have something that is running purge on close? if so, it could be considering it an empty text entity and that is why it is deleting it. or at least that is what it used to do when the feature first came out. Quote

MiGo Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 Fieldeval is at 31. All existing fields update appropriatly just the unused ones are erased and are simply blank attribute value. As far as the purging I don't know of anything that is set to run upon close. I tried purging with that box check and they still stay till I close the drawing. Quote
JPlanera Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 interesting... my fields dont delete.. can you post a dwg with a blank titleblock? Quote
MiGo Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 I would love too but I would have to remove any logos first and when I close the drawing all the attributes with blank fields will be blank text after i close the drawing. Quote
JPlanera Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 What are you using to enter titleblock information in to? Quote
MiGo Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 I use sheet set manager for all title block information. Some of it is sheet set driven some of it is sheet driven but all properties are entered using sheet set manager. This issue has only been going on for a short period of time and I don't know what triggered it. Quote
MiGo Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 On another note this is only happening to me. Others that Edit the same drawings prior to me don't have anything of the kind happen. So the issue can't lie in a drawing variable. I will be trying a repair if I can't figure this issue out shortly. Quote
