Does anyone know how to set a fixed length on a spline? So that when I move one end the spline bends but does not stretch or change length. If so, then can I do this with a spline that has been turned into a "tube" with a sweep? I am using AutoCAD 2010.

If you were using Inventor then I would say that it is indeed possible but in plain AutoCAD I don't believe so.

A thought. Can a spline be constrained in vanilla AutoCAD?

I don't think it is possible to get it an exact length. I have had the occasion to have to manipulate splines that were supposed to be a certain length. I would just mess with them going back and forth to the list to check the length and get them as close as I could to the length needed in a given space.

A real pima - maybe a wish list item to Autodesk.

Nope. Sort of possible with Routed Systems as long as you don't edit.

I'm shocked. Something Inventor does NOT do? Who would have guessed.

Any other program have this capability? Solidworks?
