cduke5 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 ACAD 2006; When I open some of my drawings alot of the layers are frozen in all viewports. I will thaw them manually but when I return they are frozen again. What is going on? Also, is there a way to thaw all frozen layers at once? Quote
danellis Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 LAYTHW will thaw all layers in a drawing. It won't, though, affect layers that are frozen in specific viewports, which I think is what your query mean. dJE Quote
cduke5 Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 That is exactly what I needed. Thanks Do you have any idea what would cause the layers to automatically freeze when I re-open the file? cd Quote
danellis Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Nice to be able to help once in awhile! As for why the vport visibilities may not be being retained: I'm going to give you the benefit of assuming you've remembered to save the drawing! Lol are all layers playing up like this? Or just some of them? If it's just some, I suppose it's possible that they're xref-dependent layers and your VISRETAIN variable is set wrong (I use it so seldom I can't remember which way round is which; but it's either 1 or 0 and controls whether xref-layer settings are reloaded or not when the drawing's reloaded). Actually, thinkig about it I have half a memory (lol) that there may be a similar variable for the drawing itself. I'm out tonight but will see if I can have a look for you. dJE Quote
