MSasu Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 The DXF format is a text type file - unfortunately the attached file is a formatted (binary) one. Did you had some issues with the files and/or the media where those where stored? Regards, Quote
Allan8m43 Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 Thank you for quick reply. So when it is formatted (binary), then there is no possibilities of opening the file in autocad...? Unfortunately all the files is approx. 10 years old, and I have no knowledge of how and who have filed/archived it. Quote
MSasu Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 The DXF format was always a text type format – in this case is possible that your files get corrupted in some way. On the other hand, the DWG format is a formatted one, but the attached example isn’t a DWG with invalid extension. Due to the content of the file it is possible that this file was encrypted in some way for protection. Regards, Mircea Quote
Tyke Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Were the files produced in AutoCAD or from some other software? Quote
