krumbibishkov Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I have 2 rectangles and i want to loft them by path.I want the path to be arc , but i cant draw the arc in isometric view. The objects are positioned something like thes 2 smiles one is exactly above the other and i want to draw arc to connect them and then use loft but cant make the arc. I tried to draw the arc in Front view, but i then i couldnt use it as loft path.So how to make the arc in 3d? Quote
ReMark Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Draw the arcs in the plane that you need them by reorienting your UCS. You do know how to to this right? Quote
krumbibishkov Posted February 8, 2011 Author Posted February 8, 2011 I"ve red something about that, will make a couple of tries and see . Thank"s. Quote

krumbibishkov Posted February 8, 2011 Author Posted February 8, 2011 OK , here it is , there are just 2 rectangles and i want to add arc between them , to use it as path for loft... mine.dwg Quote
SLW210 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I used a spline to make the arc, then loft. Quote
krumbibishkov Posted February 8, 2011 Author Posted February 8, 2011 I thought about it too, but hmm how to say it , the arc is too big , this has to be a leg of a chair , which bottom part is just a little hooked see this picture , i made the table legs using loft from cirle to rectangle, but i dont know how to make back legs of the chair , as i said i am thinking of loft with arc but ... ReMark Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 So now we get almost all the information. It's a chair leg not a smile. Quote
krumbibishkov Posted February 8, 2011 Author Posted February 8, 2011 LOL man i never said that it"S a smile ,read my 1st post again! "objects are positioned something like these 2 smiles " Did i say i am trying to make a smile?? Here it is what i"ve made so far. I want to edit the chairs , you can see the 2 rectangles, but back to the arc.... Quote
ReMark Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Please don't whine. There is no whining in CAD. So what would you like us to do? A spline and two rectangles should be the solution to your problem or is there some other piece of information we are missing? Something in your construction of the chairs appears off. Post one of them in a dwg file. We'll play with it. Quote
krumbibishkov Posted February 8, 2011 Author Posted February 8, 2011 OK , so with a little bit of practising i should be able to make it as i want with spline? How exactly spline works? I tried it i select point on 1st rectangle then point on the second, but the spline always wants to closed itself, maybe i close it and then removing what i dont need with brake? Quote
krumbibishkov Posted February 8, 2011 Author Posted February 8, 2011 Here it is , i deleted other things and left chair only. char_only.dwg Quote
SLW210 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 For one I drew an ARC with a spline between the two POLYGONS in YOUR drawing. Read my signature. You needed a spline not an arc and you need a third point for the spline and or another polygon. Quote
ReMark Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Spline? Where have I heard that word before? Spline. Quote
SLW210 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I think you are just imagining things ReMark....... Please don't whine. There is no whining in CAD. So what would you like us to do?
