Infill font with a color

I wasn't quite sure where this question would fall, so the general category it is. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for an alternative to exploding text in order to infill it with color. When we do our presentation drawings, we use the centsbbo font, explode it, and then infill the outline with a color. This works for us, but it then leaves the text uneditable. Is there another way to do this that would allow for us to have colored text (with a black outline) and still be able to edit it? Thanks for any help.

I guess you're not using powerpoint or Flash to make your presentations?

Dunno what centsbbo font is, but maybe you could use a copy of your text in a likely font and put it above?

One txt obj for filling, another txt obj for the outline?

Of course when editing, you'll need to recopy it.

What about type text then use a lisp to replace each character with a block, (26 or 52 blocks) text could then be anything you want keep a copy of original on a 2nd layer for edits. We have a font product Ausfont that you type a character and an object appears this uses the shx ability but they are single colour, maybe future shx support is multiple colour. Do I hear microstation cell moaning.
