Zena Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 HELLOOOO good people, I have AutoCAD 2011 now and I am not sure where the Dimention style edit (to show in all dimention lines I am using) is...what I have to do now is to change each line EVERY time I dimention any thing. the other thing is how to scale the drawign in viewport. In older versions it shows easily. Where is it in this one!? Ta Quote
ReMark Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Not sure if DimStyle is on the Ribbon but you can still type it in at the command line. ScaleList can be found on the Annotate tab > Annotation Scaling panel all the way to the right. Quote
SLW210 Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Click on the viewport and look at bottom of screen or double-click and set it in properties. Quote
Zena Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 wow got it...Many thanks...another question:) the scale says (when I put it in a way I can see it) 2:1 . There is something wrong but not sure what. I thought I can just put it on 1/16 or 1/4 or ...is this to do with Model space drawing limit? I saw the annotation on model but didn;t knwo what to choose...i did set the drawing limits for 100'.80' Quote
ReMark Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Objects in model space should be drawn FULL size. If you are drawing a 6x6 floor tile then that's the dimensions you use. If you are drawing a Boeing 777 Dreamliner you draw it full size too. AutoCAD doesn't care how big the object is. It will accommodate the object's size accordingly. Once you are done you switch to a layout. Create any necessary viewports. Assign a scale to the viewports appropriate to the sheet size you plan to be printing to and the level of detail required. A floor plan might have a scale of 1/4"=1'-0" while a detail for a newell post might have a scale of 3/4"=1'-0". Each viewport can have its own scale. That's one of the best features of working with a layout. Once you have your scale assigned and your view set it is important to lock the viewport display so you do not inadvertently change its scale. Yes, you can put the scale to 1/16" or 1/4". Did you try changing the scale? If so, what happened? Why do you say you think there is something wrong? What did you draw back in model space? What size sheet will you be plotting to? Do you know that a viewport can be resized using the grips at each corner? Quote
