Not sure how to maybe get around this or if its possible, within Civil 3d you create point styles that for say a tree shows exactly that on your drawing by using a tree block, the problem is even if you dont have any tree points in your dwg you can not delete the block because it says it is in use.

 

You need all these blocks when reading in your point data so they can be matched.

 

I am looking for a way to search the drawing and actually find the blocks that are used and delete the unwanted point styles. Then I can purge blocks and layers.

 

Maybe a style rewriter that changes the block description ?
