Sittingbull Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 (edited) Try the rename command? Rename the block. Eventualy explode it and redefine it. Edited March 24, 2011 by Sittingbull spelling Quote
SLW210 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 What version of AutoCAD are you using? Is this one drawing or all drawings? Do you have all of your updates for your version of AutoCAD? What Version of AutoCAD created the drawings? There is no command "Paste with Basepoint", if you "Copy with Basepoint" you will be prompted for a location to paste the object. Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I know someone always suggests this, but if I understand correctly, this problem is intermittent. Try a cold reboot. Save your drawing, close autocad and everything else, and do a cold restart. By that I mean let the computer shut all the way down. Wait till you hear the hard drive stop spinning before you power back up. See if that clears some of it up. If not, it only costs a couple minutes, but that will clear out all the "cobwebs" that collect from leaving a PC running for a long time. Quote
JD Mather Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 (edited) I forgot most about AutoCAD, but does pickfirst effect this in any way? Never mind - I'm trying to pull stuff out of my brain that is long gone. Edited March 24, 2011 by JD Mather Quote
SLW210 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I forgot most about AutoCAD, but does pickfirst effect this in any way? It would effect Selecting the object to be COPIED, but Should have No Effect on PASTE. This is a long known problem with AutoCAD from around the 2004-2007 versions, there is a hotfix, but it only applies to the version that created it. It has been awhile since I ran across this, but you may be able to save to an earlier version and reopen, but I am not sure. I used to solve this problem by using DWGGateway to save and open the file, but I do not believe this is available anymore. Quote
