kippax Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 When I open a pdf produced using dwgtopdf I get a warning from Adobe Acrobat that it "cannot find or create the font 'Arial-Black'. Some characters may not display or print correctly". Shame really as that constitutes most of the text in our title blocks. Looked at the files present within the template when I go to e-transmit and inded, there is no sign of that font, but the title block displays perfectly well. Checked my fonts folder in control panel and while there is an 'Arial Black', there is no 'Arial-Black'. Is this a problem within ACAD or Adobe Acrobat. The problem has only appeared over the last few weeks. Quote
spiff88 Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 kippax - Not sure if this is your issue - but have you upgraded to Windows XP SP3 recently? There was an issue with SP3 updating the Arial Black font - and the update installed a font that was italic instead of normal. This meant that if you used Arial Black it would always appear italic. I had this problem in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Excel, but not in Word - so it was one of those 'crazy computer!' things that are hard to track down. I found a great explanation and a way to fix the problem here: http://faqica.blogspot.com/2010/05/arial-black-italic-problem.html Maybe this will help you, though your issue seems a little different.
