salisbut Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I am having trouble getting my linetypes to show up. Many are set by layer and are not showing up. I seem to remember someone showing me how to toggle it so they show up. Thanks. Quote
SLW210 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 LTSCALE, MSLTSCALE and PSLTSCALE will set your linetypes scales. Are you in Model Space, Paper Space or a Paper Space viewport? Quote
salisbut Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 I am in model space inside a viewport. Unfortunately I do not think this solves the problem. The property of the linetypes is not actually on. It doesn't matter how big or small the line is the scale has no effect. Quote
Dana W Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I am in model space inside a viewport. Unfortunately I do not think this solves the problem. The property of the linetypes is not actually on. It doesn't matter how big or small the line is the scale has no effect. Are you sure you are not refering to line weight? That is, how fat they are? The commands in the above post refer to the scale of the line elements, that is how long or short the dashes and spaces are. The line weight differential display can be controlled by a button at the bottom of the screen. 2004 had this option did it not? Quote
SLW210 Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Try _LWDISPLAY to toggle on off in Model If indeed you mean lineweight.... Display Lineweights in Model Space Lineweight display in model space does not change with the zoom factor. For example, a lineweight value that is represented by a width of four pixels is always displayed using four pixels regardless of how far you zoom in. If you want the lineweights on objects to appear thicker or thinner on the Model tab, use LWEIGHT to set their display scale. Changing the display scale does not affect the lineweight plotting value. In model space, weighted lines that are joined form a beveled joint with no end caps. You can use plot styles to apply different joins and endcap styles to objects with lineweights. NoteDifferent styles of endcaps and joins of objects with lineweight are displayed only in a full plot preview. Display Lineweights in Layouts In layouts and plot preview, lineweights are displayed in real-world units, and lineweight display changes with the zoom factor. You can control lineweight plotting and scaling in your drawing in the Plot dialog box, Plot Settings tab. Quote
salisbut Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 Yeah it is definitely not lineweight because it has nothing to do with width of the line. The problem is definitely with the line type because I am trying to get a dotted line to show up and it simply will not. It is frustrating because the linetype is set to by layer and the layer it is set to should show dotted lines when lines are drawn. Does this clarify? Quote
SLW210 Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Then you will need to have a look at this. LTSCALE, MSLTSCALE and PSLTSCALE will set your linetypes scales. Are you in Model Space, Paper Space or a Paper Space viewport? I forgot to add CELTSCALE There is no "ON/OFF" for line types only scales. WE could solve this problem in a few seconds if only you would post your dwg. Quote
Glen1980 Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Do you have the only seat of LT in your office? From time to time my LT machine lost the batting line type so I had to import the .LIN file from someone elses machine. Instead of batting I just saw a line of indistinct dots though. Doing that and restarting used to cure that problem. As SLW210 mentioned uploading the dwg file is a much quicker way of solving the problem Quote
JD Mather Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Erase all but one line of each type. (make sure you don't overwrite your original) Zip and attach the sample file here and someone will have your solution back to you within minutes. Quote
