Dipali Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 It shows in preview so i guess it will still print. To make it not print you need to move them to seprate layer & make that layer non printable in layer manager. Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 How about testing it out and letting us know what the result is! Quote
designerstuart Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 the result is that it still prints. i think it may depend on if you are using stb or ctb plot configurations, but for me (ctb) the lineweight set in properties does not affect the printed line - only the colour of the line will. Quote
edwinprakoso Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I remember that I read about before... somewhere. By setting the lineweight to 0, then it will plot as thin as the plotter can support. Quote
eldon Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 If you set a line to 0mm will it plot? Yes but with the thinnest line that your plotter can make. I don't think that line weights were around when pen plotters were the norm. When text is exploded, the result is put on Layer 0 and has a lineweight of 0mm, so it plots faintly. Also AutoCAD Points seem to have a line weight of 0mm which cannot be altered. Quote
designerstuart Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Yes but with the thinnest line that your plotter can makenot for me.... it plotted more like a .25 line, same as if on layer 0 standard autocad style, i assume because it was a white line. i can get thinner, lighter lines by making it grey, even if it is set to .10 or .15 lineweight. ReMark Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 If you set a line to 0mm will it plot? What are you trying to accomplish by setting the lineweight to 0mm? Quote
eldon Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 not for me.... it plotted more like a .25 line, same as if on layer 0 standard autocad style, i assume because it was a white line. i can get thinner, lighter lines by making it grey, even if it is set to .10 or .15 lineweight. Yes, my ink-jet printer always gives much fatter lines than the laser printer even for the same line-weight, different line formation technologies. Quote
rkent Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 HPT770 plotter, Black set at 0.00 linewidth plots visibly thinner than 0.10, using STB file. If you want it to not plot you can use 0% screening to use for having text show up in a solid area with merge control set properly. Quote
