I am trying to import a assembly from Solidworks. I start by selecting the file and then opening it. Autocad notifies me that the file is ready. I click on the path and it cancels out. I then try in insert the block and nothing. Is there a easier way to convert a assembly from Solidworks to Autocad?

How are you trying to import? What is the file extension you have?

Importing an assembly file from Solidworks Premium 2011 into AutoCAD 2012. I have tried importing a part file also.

I was not aware that AutoCAD could import those file extensions. I think you will need to have the Solidworks save the files as ACIS (.sat) to import to AutoCAD, unless this is some new feature in 2012 AutoCAD.

AutoCAD 2012 will only support up to Solidworks 2010 files
