xlozano
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I don't know how to make a simple (I think it is) matter. I have a shape, which contains some parcels of land with information about them (project number, area, property...) I want to show some labels of every parcel, the problem is that in some places I have a lot of parcels (and so a lot of information to show), and I would like to show the information inside some block or entity (for ex. a divided rectangle). It would help to understand the drawing. Can somebody help me? I attach you an image of what I need Thanks, Xavier
SLW210
Are you using MAP3D or just AutoCAD?

Murph_map
There's a couple of ways to go about this depending on how well you understand AutoCAD and block entities/properties, and what you want the final project to be. You can use the map import command to import the shp file(s) creating object data then use that object data in Map annotation blocks to label. This would be a dwg that contains all the info to share with others. The second method is with using Data Connect (FDO) and connect to the shp files(s) then use a label style to label the polygons and theme the shapes if you need to. This method requires anyone to have Map3D and access to the shp files(s) if you share the map. This method also may put a lot of stress on your video card/drivers and there are issues of the screen going blank when you start to edit the style to get the look you want. xlozano
I've never heard about "map annotation blocks". Now I have used them, I can say they're great! I will make a few checks, but for the moment is just what I needed. Thanks!!

A lot of power with them "but" like any other enhancement drug there are side effects with them, just know what they are and how to treat those side effects. Yes, it seems to be very powerful, but also It may have it's problems. I'll check map3d.wordpress.com to find more information. Thank you very much for your help!
