muck Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 I attached 3 pdf files to a single drawing then I moved the single drawing with the pdf files to a USB drive from a network. The pdf files was in the same directory as the drawing file. When I pulled up the drawing on a different system I only saw two pdf files in the drawing. Is there a reason for this? Why did the third drawing not remain with the drawing? Is in the way I attached the pdf's? What does Full Path, No Path and Relative Path mean in the pdf attach menu? Thank you, Quote
CyberAngel Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 The attached files don't physically move with the drawing unless you explicitly move them yourself. You don't mention that you moved the PDFs along with the drawing. AutoCAD has a procedure for finding attached files. Full Path means the attached file is in a specific folder, typically on a network; if it isn't there, it won't show up. No Path means the attached file is in the same folder as the drawing or in one of the folders it checks after that (there's a sequence but I forget). Relative Path means AutoCAD looks in a folder that can be reached from the drawing's folder the same way as when the file was first attached. If that folder is a subfolder of the drawing's folder named PDF, that's where it looks. If that folder is three folders up and four down from the drawing's folder, that's where it looks. Quote
muck Posted May 31, 2011 Author Posted May 31, 2011 Yes, I did mvoe the pdf files with the drawing file. I guess using "Relative Path" might be the best choice. Thank you, Quote
CyberAngel Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 So did you get the PDF to appear? How did you attach them originally? We like to get some closure in case someone else has the same problem. Quote
