I have a lot of text I copied in from another program and I would like to change it all to TT Arial all at once. Is there a way to do that? Right now it is a lot of paragraphs and numbers and I have to do each one. And then when I get to single lines I have no clue how to change it to Arial because the menu box does not pop up like MText.

Thanks!

Create a text style that uses TT Arial, then select all the MText you want to change then use the Properties Palette to chance the style. After you're done with the MText, select the DText (single line text) and do the same. (Hint, use QSELECT or SELECTSIMILAR) to select all the MTEXT / Dtext you want to change without selecting any other type of objects.

The options are all better with AutoCAD vs LT.

Express > Text > Convert Text to Mtext will convert the single line text to MText first so you wouldn't have a mix of Mtext and DText.

If there is a text over-ride it's possible that changing the style won't change the font. StripText.lsp (or something like that) will reset all the over-rides (no lisps in LT)

I am fairly new to AutoCAD so excuse the stupid question...

I have a box at the top of my screen where I can define dimension styles and one where I can define leader styles. I cannot find one anywhere for text styles. Where can I get a menu for that? I am able to pull up the screen that shows the text styles but I cannot dock it like the dimensions and leaders.

Ribbon > Annotate > Manage Text Styles

or, Tools > Format > Text Style

or, type STYLE at the Command line

or, click the "Style" button on the Text toolbar

See, I can find that, but how can I turn it into a pull down menu like I have for dimensions and leaders with the scales inside the pull down menu? I do not know how to change dimension sizes and leader sizes without that pull down menu, I suppose I will need it for text too as I still have no clue how to do it without a pull down menu and the text highlighted.

Thanks!

Are you using the Ribbon, or AutoCAD Classic?

If you want only the Text style control, you can find it in the CUI under Toolbar Controls > Text Style Control. Create a new Toolbar for it, or drag it onto one of your other toolbars.

I use a Classic workspace more than the Ribbon, but I don't change text styles that often, so I don't have a Text Style control on my desktop. If I need to change the style of a text, I just use the properties palette.

you can also use the filter command to select it all for manipulation

Right-click in your toolbar area and select AutoCAD> Styles or Tools>Toolbars>AutoCAD>Styles
