Hi,

Given : a terrain created in AutoCAD Map 3D based on points (not a point cloud however).

The terrain I've created based on an evenly divided square of points with varying Z values, is a 3D terrain but cannot be converted into a 3D object anymore.
The conversion from 2D to 3D as suggested in the help files (to project any polyline onto the terrain) does not make the 2D polys follow the 3D terrain.

Does anyone have anysuggestions on how to project polylines onto a 3D terrain and how to create a 3D solid terrain based on point elevations preferably in Autocad Map 3D?

I moved this thread to the MAP3D forum for you.

Map3D only draps 2D objects when you use a raster surface. You can try to create a raster surface from the points in the later verseions and using Data Connect (FDO) what version of Map3D are you using?
